Single Delegate Crisis Committee
Maximum size: 15 delegations |
The Second Continental Congress was a truly foundational assembly in American history, laying the groundwork for the nation’s independence and early governance. It convened in 1775 amidst escalating tensions with Britain and served as the de facto national government during the American Revolution. The Revolution was fundamentally rooted in ideals of self-governance and natural rights that were popularized during the Enlightenment and challenged the very existence of the British monarchy. As the Revolution waged on, Congress worked behind the scenes to handle critical issues, including organizing the war effort, drafting key principles upon which the United States would be founded, and managing foreign alliances. Delegates in this committee will draft America's key founding documents, adapt to foreign threats, and form the foundation of the nation that we know today.
