CONFERENCE POLICIES

Awards and Participation Certificates

All delegates who attend each committee session will receive a McKenna MUN XII certificate of participation. We will also be distributing awards to delegates who demonstrate extraordinary public speaking ability, negotiation and diplomacy, knowledge of their topics of debate, and creativity in their proposed solutions. In crisis committees, delegates will also be evaluated based on the creativity, detail, and impact of their crisis notes. Delegates may receive a Best Delegate award, an Outstanding Delegate award, an Honorable Mention award, or a Verbal Commendation award in recognition of their talents. In addition, each General Assembly and ECOSOC committee will award one Research Award to a delegate who produces an outstanding position paper. These awards will be determined at the discretion of the Chair of each committee.

Position Papers

If you are a delegate is in DISEC, UNEP, ECOFIN, or UNHCR you will need to write and submit a position paper. For DISEC, we are expecting 1 position paper per Double Delegate pair. The Deadline for Position Papers will be on April 24th at 11:59pm PST, and should be submitted here.Instructions for how to format and write a Position Paper are included below:

Rules of Procedure

These documents outline the Rules of Procedure our Chairs will use to run McKenna MUN XII committees. All General Assembly and ECOSOC Committees will use the "Rules of Procedure for General Assembly" guidelines. All Crisis Committees will use the "Rules of Procedure for Crisis" guidelines. We recommend that all delegates familiarize themselves with these procedures before the beginning of the conference.

Our sensitivity statement is an important part of our commitment to maintaining an inclusive environment in Model UN.
